Small Acts. Lasting Change.

Since 2014, Baobab Group has worked hand-in-hand with communities in Senegal, funding what they need, the way they need it.

Ongoing Projects

These are our current focus areas. Your support makes a direct difference right now.

Now Shipping

Medical Equipment and Bikes

Right now, containers packed with medical equipment and bicycles are making their way to Senegal. Bikes mean a nurse can reach a remote village. A stethoscope means a health post can do its job. Simple things. Real impact.

Active

Sponsorship

We sponsor talented young people in Senegal so they can stay in school and go further. This programme was started by a Belgian association; we took it on because we believe every gifted young person deserves the chance to see what they can become.

Past Projects

A record of the impactful work we have accomplished together.

School Renovation: Saly Carrefour and N'Dioufene

From a patchwork tent to a real school with solid walls, a computer lab, and a sports hall. Two schools, two communities, one shared story of what changes when you simply show up and build.

Agriculture and Livestock

In our farming communities, BAOBAB provides village wells, cattle troughs, quality seeds, veterinary medicines, and small farming tools.

Medical Post

Carried out repairs, supplied medical equipment, installed solar power and lighting, and provide medicines and mosquito nets each year for the health post in N'Dioufene.

Pandemic Response

During the pandemic, BAOBAB shifted projects to focus fully on direct aid, providing food supplies and sanitary protection.

What We Do

We run small-scale projects across Senegal: education, healthcare, agriculture, and community welfare. Every project starts with a conversation, not a plan. We ask the communities what they need, and we work together from there. Their priorities lead. We provide the means.

Our DNA

Baobab Group is not a charity. We don't arrive with answers; we come to listen. Together with the people we have come to know, we look for solutions, however small. The goal is always the same: to make it a little easier for communities to shape their own future.

We are not a drop in the ocean. We are a seed. One that will grow, slowly, stubbornly, and magnificently, into something that gives shade, shelter, and life to everyone around it. That is what the baobab does. That is what we aim to do.

Small-scale. No-nonsense. Direct impact. Personal contact. We follow up, always.

Our History

It started with a holiday. In 2014, a small group of friends visited Saly/Mbour in Senegal and what they saw there changed everything. Guided by Moussa Ka, then a local guide and now our trusted coordinator on the ground, they visited schools in Saly-M'Bour and village communities in the Louga region. They came back with a simple conviction: the best kind of help is the kind that listens first. So we set up a lean organisation with one purpose: to fund what the communities themselves tell us they need, and to buy locally wherever possible, keeping the local economy moving. In 2017, we formalised as a V.Z.W. (non-profit association). Today, Baobab Group has active chapters in Flanders, Wallonia, and Spain, all guided by that same founding principle.
